Published: 22/07/2005 @ 09:27:25After an outstanding first year of trading, bakery supplier Mantinga has made a key new appointment to lead its sales & commercial effort. The new position of Sales Director will enable Mantinga to deliver in several key areas of the business including new retail concepts & solutions and develop key strategic wholesaler partnerships.
Chris Riley joins Mantinga UK Ltd from Vandemoortele after 17 years where latterly he held the position of Senior Business Account Manager, Bakery Products handling major accounts such as Somerfield, The Brake Group, IAWS and 3663 and was responsible for managing the wholesale channel. Chris has 26 years commercial experience in the food industry in retail, wholesale, and the forecourt, convenience and leisure sectors, and will enable Mantinga to really drive future growth in all these areas.
"After achieving our biggest weekly turnover last week, the appointment of Chris could not have come at a better time. His broad general management & account experience will help the sales team to accomplish further success in channels that have yet been fully explored", said managing director, Steven Mackintosh. "Later this year we are looking to open a second distribution hub to increase supply reach and build upon our existing client base and Chris will play an integral part in this", he continued.
