Press ReleaseMantinga Increases the Profits of Rural Retailers
Published: 27/09/2005 @ 09:33:56Nothing tempts customers more than the smell of freshly baked bread wafting through a store, but the time and cost implications of baking from scratch are often too much for smaller retailers. But, this is set to change with the arrival of new bakery supplier Mantinga, offering one of the largest ranges of handmade breads and pastries on the UK market.
Mantinga's vast range of bake off products enables farm shops to offer fresh products throughout the day from morning pastries and baguettes to savoury pastries. The core of Mantinga's product range is bread, with a selection of specialities from across Europe including rustic, plain and Parisien baguettes, seeded wholemeal, dark rye breads and flavoured ciabatta's, some loaves have been specifically developed for in store bake-off such as Caramelised Onion Bread, Sundried Tomato Bread and Feta Cheese and Black Olive Bread. A large range of premium individual rolls include a Multi Seeded Heart Shaped Roll and unique Danish Rolls alongside an extensive selection of morning goods including Pain au Chocolate, sweet rolls and croissants. Muffins, doughnuts, and savoury goods such as pizza slices and cheese and ham croissants complete the range.
"With the demise of local village bakeries, a big opportunity exists for farm shops to fill this gap in the market and offer their customers premium handmade bakery products," commented Steven Mackintosh, Managing Director and founder of Mantinga UK Ltd. "Our products are not available on the high street or in forecourts enabling farm shops to create a real point of difference by offering fresh bread throughout the day. This can not only compliment other products but also generate more profit on the bottom line." Mr Mackintosh proudly states "Mantinga is focused on creating real value for rural retail businesses."
All Mantinga products are delivered frozen, for the farm shop to bake-off as required, allowing greater flexibility over stock control and reducing wastage. Point of sale displays and promotional material designed specifically for farm shops are provided as part of the package. Oven equipment is also available and depending on the sales forecast is provided on an interest free finance package. All the ovens are pre-programmed to ensure they are easy to use, and Mantinga staff provide a full training service and after sales support package..
The Mantinga brand originates in Lithuania, where it is the largest craft bakery brand in the Baltic, but has now been extended to include a number of European and UK bakery partners including an organic one. The products are delivered frozen to Mantinga's dedicated cold store, either part baked for bake off or fully baked for thaw and serve. Guaranteed next day delivery by a dedicated fleet of Mantinga vehicles situated at head office in Churcham, Gloucestershire ensures the orders reach their destination in top condition. By working strategically with selected wholesale partners and the planned opening of additional hubs enables rural retailers across the UK to benefit from the concept.
